Officer details

  • Role: Grievance Officer
  • Organisation: Namaste Indian
  • Email: namasteindia.ap@gmail.com
  • Preferred subject lines: “Grievance”, “Content complaint”, “Account appeal”, or “Privacy / DPDP”

We aim to acknowledge grievances within 24 hours and resolve them within 15 days, as expected under the IT Rules, 2021.

What to include

  • Your Namaste Indian username and contact email.
  • Links, usernames, screenshots, or message IDs for the content or account at issue.
  • A clear description of the harm or rule you believe was broken.
  • For privacy / DPDP requests: whether you seek access, correction, erasure, or nomination.

How we handle your complaint

  • Within 24 hours — we acknowledge your complaint by email and give it a reference.
  • Within 15 days — we tell you the outcome and what action, if any, we took. Complex cases get an interim update instead of silence.
  • Within 72 hours — for content that is unlawful on its face, or reported by an authorised agency, we act faster.
  • Within 24 hours — for complaints about non-consensual intimate imagery or impersonation of a real person, per Rule 3(2)(b).

We keep a record of every grievance and its outcome. We do not share the complainant’s identity with the person complained about.

If you disagree with the outcome

  • Reply to our decision email within 30 days with new context — we re-open cases when the facts change.
  • If your content or account was actioned, you can appeal; see Community Guidelines → Appeals.
  • You may also escalate to the Grievance Appellate Committee established under Rule 3A of the IT Rules, 2021, at gac.gov.in, or approach the Data Protection Board for DPDP matters.
